Announcing our newest course that equips college students with essential skills to evaluate, verify, and responsibly use AI-generated content in their academic work.
As AI tools like ChatGPT become prevalent on college campuses, students face a new challenge: how to use these powerful resources effectively and responsibly. Recent research by Digital Education Council* (August 2024) shows 86% of students now use AI tools for academic work, but only 58% feel confident in their AI knowledge and skills.
This course bridges that gap.
Designed specifically for today's college environment, the AI Information Literacy for College Students course equips students with practical skills to:
Recognize AI capabilities and limitations
Verify AI-generated information using proven methods
Detect potential AI hallucinations and misinformation
Evaluate the reliability of AI-provided citations
Develop personal protocols for responsible AI use
Document AI contributions in academic work
This isn't just another digital literacy course. While traditional information literacy focuses on evaluating human-created content, AI-generated information presents unique challenges that require specialized verification techniques.
The course consists of six modules covering the full spectrum of AI information literacy from, How AI Generates Information to Why AI-Generated Information Can be Misleading to Evaluating AI-Generated Content to Developing Responsible AI Information Practices. Each module includes practical exercises, real-world examples, and hands-on verification activities.
