This chapter covers five sections in sequence: Project Description, Goals and Objectives, Project Design, Timeline, and Evaluation Plan. Each one builds directly on the sections that came before it, and each one will inform the sections that follow.

The workflow principle introduced in Chapter 2 is in full effect here: always pass completed sections forward. Before prompting for any section in this chapter, confirm that all preceding sections are in your project workspace. The difference between a proposal that reads as an integrated whole and one that feels stitched together usually comes down to whether the AI had the full picture when each section was drafted.

This chapter covers the remaining proposal sections: Budget, Budget Narrative, Sustainability Plan, Dissemination Plan, Appendices, and Executive Summary. With the analytical and programmatic core of the proposal complete, these sections fulfill specific funder requirements, demonstrate financial credibility and long-term thinking, and, in the case of the Executive Summary, synthesize the entire proposal into a compelling opening argument.

Two structural notes before beginning. First, the Budget and Budget Narrative are treated as a pair in this chapter and should always be drafted in sequence in the same working session. Second, the Executive Summary is always written last, after every other section is complete; it appears first in the submitted proposal but is drafted last because it summarizes what has already been written.

With all proposal sections drafted, the work is not finished — it is ready for the stage that separates competitive proposals from funded ones.
